Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Review Company in New Rochelle, NY as a Nursing Home Surveyor/Complaint Investigator. This contract/travel-based role is ideal for a nurse with regulatory, review, or investigation experience who is passionate about improving care standards in long-term care facilities.

Qualifications

Active NYS RN license (required)
At least 1 year of survey experience (required)
One of the following:
2+ years of experience in utilization review, medical review, claims adjudication, fraud investigation, or surveillance
3 years of clinical or administrative nursing experience
BSN and 2 years of relevant experience
SMQT Certification preferred (or willing to obtain within 12 months)
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to onsite review locations

Responsibilities

Conduct surveys and complaint investigations at nursing homes (including abuse and neglect cases)
Perform surveillance activities to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations
Draft and submit Statements of Deficiencies (SOD) using Principles of Documentation
Assess provider compliance with Plans of Correction
Perform data entry in state and federal databases
Support state monitoring during Immediate Jeopardy incidents
Attend required meetings and administrative hearings
Follow Department of Health (DOH) and internal policies and schedules
Travel to assigned locations per schedule
